With the firing of Penn State’s head coach, James Franklin, Penn State needed a new coach to bring Penn State back to its original standing Penn State had lost. After an immense search and hiring meetings, Penn State Nittany Lions hired Matt Campbell after his successful tenure in the Cyclones program. During his time in Iowa State Campbell turned the program into a consistent contender. He gave them multiple bowl appearances and prepped plenty of NFL players for their future careers. Campbell gained national recognitions and was a sought after coach with the experience he had in coaching.
Campbell signed an eight-year, $78.5 million contract, bringing his coordinators and staff to Happy Valley to lead the Nittany Lions into their next era of football. The future of Penn State Football is in good hands and is looking promising for the time to come. Matt Campbell is known for being the winningest coach in the history of the Iowa State Cyclones. Matt Campbell uses the words: Character, Culture, Community, and Excellence, to describe success for the future of Penn State. With the addition of Matt, Penn State is looking at a season of tough and smart football. The hopes of a championship game win are within reach. Pat Kraft even mentions Matt, saying, “Matt Campbell is one of the most respected coaches in the country, and he has earned that. Matt Campbell is Penn State: Hard-nosed, humble, relentless, a developer of young men, and he’s built for championships.”
